GAME MANAGEMENT REPORTS
HOME TEAM | REPORT | NEXT HOME GAME |
New this week | ||
Bristol Barracuda | The field markings were very faint with the black lines faded and the inbounds markings were often not visible. Julian Mallia #336 | Unknown |
Brunel Burners | The changing rooms are a long walk from the field. Keith Wickham #423 | 15th March 2026 v Warwick Wolves |
Hertfordshire Hurricanes | Team areas marked with cones. Wires stretch across the field in three places. The ball hit the wire on a few occasions - inadvertent whistle rules to replay the down. Brian Yates #29 | 8th March 2026 v Oxford Brookes Panthers |
KCL Regents | 80-yard grass field where the blue markings were mostly worn away. Some markings were missing on arrival but fixed promptly by game management. The field was soft under foot and starting to rut in places. No numbers and the coaching box on the home sideline marked with cones. The away team sideline had no team areas. The inbounds markings were disappearing by the second half. Two clean and lockable changing rooms (each suitable for 3-4 officials) were provided but the key is held by the venue staff. No private toilet. Two chain personnel and one ball person changed at half time. The chain set broke multiple times but was fixed quickly without the need to stop the game. Balls provided were old and worn. James Ford-Bannister #479 | 8th March 2026 v Bournemouth Bobcats |
Kent Falcons | 90 yard artificial field marked in Red on Green, other sport markings in yellow, white and blue are present. Team areas marked with cones, no numbers or 9 yard marks present - but rugby markings were used for their approximate position. Officials assistants provided quite late but were briefed adequately without needing to delay kickoff. Phil Clarke #262 | Unknown |
Lancashire Rams | Well marked 100-yard field. Team areas marked out using cones. David Hewitt #607 | 8th March 2026 v Manchester Tyrants |
Manchester Tyrants | Field markings below full standards. The field was marked in faded dark blue/black. The lines became very hard to see when the sun was close to the horizon and when the sun set. There were no numbers or nine yard marks. There were no limit lines or team area markings. The home team played in Gold Jersey with Purple shoulders. The visiting team played in mainly black with purple trim. However, some visiting team players wore an all purple jersey. The changing room allocated to the officials had been taken over by a soccer team, the Sports Centre staff allowed the officials to use the Staff changing room. This ended up being a nicer changing room with private showers. It was locked and unlocked at the request of the officials. However, on occasion, it was shared and used by members of the sports centre staff. Ben Griffiths #228 | Unknown |
Nottingham Green | No changing area available, so the crew changed in single occupancy rooms and had pregame in the cafe. Field was well marked in blue, although a couple of faded superfluous non-football blue lines are visible. Coaching boxes were too close to the sideline. Joel Pearson #405 | Unknown |
NTU Renegades | Field marked in red. Quite sandy in places but it held up relatively well during the game. Markings not consistent; ten yards on the field did not always match ten yards on the chain. No team areas. Officials assistants were provided with less than ten minutes to kickoff. Jed Brookes-Lewis #395 | Unknown |
Warwick Wolves | The field was reduced due to the RFU Under 18/16 academy using the field beforehand and had left the rugby posts up - there are no Ground staff on weekends. Therefore, the field was 80 yards instead of 90. Medical Cover was supplied by two members of the visiting team support staff who were suitably qualified. Richard Whitby #136 | Unknown |
Outstanding items from previous weeks | ||
Coventry University Jets | 100-yard field with seven-yard end zones marked clearly in blue. Other sports markings in yellow and white. Short yard-line extensions are now marked at the correct distance from sidelines, previous markings are present but faded. Team areas marked to 25-yard lines. Jed Brookes-Lewis #395 | 8th March 2026 v Hull Shawks |
Durham Saints | No marks or nine-yard marks. No team or coaching boxes marked. No limit lines. Henry Richardson #25 | 15th March 2026 v Loughbrough Students |
QMBL Vipers | Played at Imperial’s home ground. 90-yard field marked in white with rugby markings in dark blue. No numbers or nine-yard marks. No marked coaching boxes or team areas. No limit lines. One corner end zone pylon was missing. Changing room was lockable but shared with officials for other sports. Peter Parsons #321 | 8th March 2026 v Gloucestershire Gladiators |
PLAY OF THE WEEK: | |
New this week | Play: The game is being played with a Video Judge. 1st and 10 at Midfield, there are 1:30 seconds left in the game. The clock is not running, the score is tied. Team A attempt a pass play and it is intercepted by B38 at the B-29. B38 returns the ball to A’s end zone for a Touchdown. After the play the video judge reviews the pay and sees clear evidence of a false start prior to the snap.
